Weapons
Weapon cheats have appeared in every mainline Grand Theft Auto since GTA III — usually a "give weapons" tier, an ammo refill, and at least one joke ammo type. Expect the same spread in GTA 6.

The single most-used cheat family in the series. In GTA 5 the health cheat also restored armor, and invincibility ran on a five-minute timer rather than lasting forever — GTA 6 will likely work the same way.

Vehicles
GTA 5 shipped fourteen vehicle spawn cheats plus handling modifiers. With Leonida spanning swamp, coast and keys, expect boats and aircraft to feature far more heavily in the GTA 6 list than they did in Los Santos.

Straight answer: there has never been a working money cheat in GTA 5, GTA Online or any HD-era Grand Theft Auto, and there is no reason to expect one in GTA 6. Money is tied to the online economy, and Rockstar has removed every exploit that touched it. How it works
How GTA 6 cheats will work
Cheats in Grand Theft Auto have never been downloads, mods or third-party tools. They are inputs you type or press inside the running game, built by Rockstar and shipped in the retail build. That is the single most useful thing to understand before launch, because it rules out almost everything currently being sold as a GTA 6 cheat.
Controller button sequences
On PlayStation and Xbox, a cheat is a short combination entered during play — triggers, bumpers, face buttons and d-pad directions in a fixed order, usually eight to ten inputs. There is no menu and no confirmation prompt; the effect either fires or it does not. GTA 5 used this method on every console it shipped on, and nothing about GTA 6 suggests a change.
PC text codes
On PC the same cheats are usually available as words typed into a console opened with the tilde key. GTA 5 accepted phrases such as PAINKILLER and HESOARLONG this way. Whether GTA 6 keeps the method is genuinely unknown, because Rockstar has not announced a PC version at all — let alone how it will handle cheats.
The in-game phone
GTA 5 added a second route: dialling a number on the character phone. It survives reloads better than a button string and is easier to remember, and Rockstar has kept expanding phone functionality since. If GTA 6 ships phone cheats, expect them to sit alongside button sequences rather than replace them.
Anything outside those three routes is not a cheat. Downloadable "GTA 6 cheat tools", generators, APKs and trainers are at best useless before release and at worst malware. No file you install can add a cheat that the game does not already contain.
Twenty years of precedent
What Rockstar has shipped since GTA III
The reason this site can list GTA 6 cheat categories before the game exists is that Rockstar has been remarkably consistent. The same families of cheat have appeared in every mainline entry for two decades. The names change, the button strings change, the categories do not.

GTA III · 2001
The template
Weapons, health, armour, wanted level and weather were all present in the first 3D game, entered as button combinations on PlayStation 2 and as typed words on PC. Every category on this site traces back to that list. The one thing GTA III had that later games dropped is a working money cheat — worth remembering when a site promises you one for GTA 6.

San Andreas · 2004
The peak
San Andreas shipped well over a hundred cheats, including physics and pedestrian-behaviour codes that no later game has matched. It is also where the trade-off became explicit: cheats disabled saving and blocked progress in ways players had to plan around. That design lesson carried forward.

The phone
GTA IV moved cheats onto Niko’s mobile phone and cut the list down hard. Fewer, more deliberate cheats, entered as phone numbers, with achievements disabled while active. This is the moment the modern approach starts — restraint over volume.

The current shape
GTA 5 settled on roughly thirty-five cheats across five groups, available as button sequences, PC phrases and phone numbers all at once, with no money cheat and no online use. It has been the stable reference point for over a decade, and it is the best available predictor of what GTA 6 will ship with.
What carries over
GTA 5 cheats vs GTA 6 cheats
Until GTA 6 is out, the honest way to talk about its cheats is by reference to GTA 5 — the codes that exist, work today, and are the closest thing to evidence anyone has.
Almost certainly carries over
Weapons and ammunition, health and armour, invincibility, wanted-level changes, weather cycling, vehicle spawns and movement modifiers. Every one of these has appeared in multiple entries, and several in all of them.
Genuinely uncertain
Whether PC gets text codes, since there is no announced PC version. Whether phone dialling returns. Whether the two-protagonist structure adds any character-specific cheats — nothing in the series so far gives a precedent for that.
Not happening
A money cheat. There has not been one since GTA III, GTA Online makes in-game currency a revenue line, and Rockstar has removed every exploit that touched it. Any GTA 6 money cheat, generator or "unlimited cash" video is either an ad farm or an attempt on your account.

PlayStation and Xbox button sequences differ, and phone numbers have to be dialled exactly. Each cheat gets all of its confirmed platform variants attached, with the ones that do not exist marked as not existing rather than left blank.
