GTA 6 System Requirements

Official PC requirements not confirmed by Rockstar yet. Below are expected specs estimated from current-gen console hardware. We replace them with official figures the moment they exist.

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S. Console specs are fixed and known. PC is a different story: Rockstar has not announced a PC version, let alone its requirements — so the two tables below are estimates derived from PS5-class hardware plus the overhead a PC port normally carries.

Where GTA 6 runs

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version is coming later — Rockstar has not dated it.

PlayStation 5

Launch platform

Confirmed launch platform, standard and Digital Edition.

PlayStation 5 Pro

Launch platform

Confirmed launch platform. Expect a higher-fidelity or higher-framerate mode.

Xbox Series X|S

Launch platform

Confirmed launch platform. Series S targets a lower resolution than Series X.

PC

Coming later

Not at launch. Rockstar has announced neither a PC version nor a date.

There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. GTA 6 is a current-generation-only release.

PC Requirements (Expected)

Minimum (Expected)

Estimate
GTA 6 expected minimum PC system requirements
Component Minimum (Expected)
OS Windows 10 / 11 64-bit
Processor Intel Core i5-8600 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory 16 GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5700
Storage 150 GB SSD
DirectX Version 12

Targets roughly 1080p at 30 fps on low-to-medium settings.

Recommended (Expected)

Estimate
GTA 6 expected recommended PC system requirements
Component Recommended (Expected)
OS Windows 11 64-bit
Processor Intel Core i7-12700 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Memory 32 GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 / AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
Storage 150 GB NVMe SSD
DirectX Version 12

Targets roughly 1440p at 60 fps on high settings.

Where these numbers come from

  • CPU. The PS5 runs an 8-core Zen 2 at up to 3.5 GHz. A Ryzen 5 3600 is the closest desktop equivalent; the recommended tier assumes headroom for the higher frame rates PC players expect.
  • GPU. PS5 graphics sit at 10.28 TFLOPS of RDNA 2, roughly RTX 2070 territory. An RTX 2060 is a realistic floor at lower settings; an RTX 4070 or RX 7800 XT covers 1440p comfortably.
  • RAM. Consoles have 16 GB unified between CPU and GPU. On PC that splits, so 16 GB is a genuine minimum and 32 GB is the sane target.
  • Storage. Both consoles use custom NVMe drives and stream assets aggressively. A mechanical hard drive is not viable; the install size is estimated from Red Dead Redemption 2’s ~150 GB.

These are informed estimates, not leaks. We replace this entire section with Rockstar’s official figures the moment they exist.

Console Support

Unlike PC, the console side is settled. GTA 6 is a current-generation-only release — one of the clearest signals of how much the game is asking of its hardware.

PlayStation 5

Launch platform

Launch platform. Standard PS5 and the Digital Edition are both supported.

CPU
8-core AMD Zen 2 @ up to 3.5 GHz
GPU
AMD RDNA 2, 10.28 TFLOPS
Memory
16 GB GDDR6 unified
Storage
825 GB custom NVMe SSD

PlayStation 5 Pro

Launch platform

Launch platform. Expect a higher-fidelity or higher-framerate mode over base PS5.

CPU
8-core AMD Zen 2, higher sustained clocks
GPU
Enhanced RDNA-based GPU, ~2× base PS5 rasterisation
Memory
16 GB GDDR6 unified, faster bandwidth
Storage
2 TB NVMe SSD

Xbox Series X

Launch platform

Launch platform. The highest-spec Xbox target.

CPU
8-core AMD Zen 2 @ 3.8 GHz
GPU
AMD RDNA 2, 12.15 TFLOPS
Memory
16 GB GDDR6 unified
Storage
1 TB custom NVMe SSD

Xbox Series S

Launch platform

Launch platform. Lower resolution target than Series X given the reduced memory pool.

CPU
8-core AMD Zen 2 @ 3.6 GHz
GPU
AMD RDNA 2, 4.0 TFLOPS
Memory
10 GB GDDR6 unified
Storage
512 GB / 1 TB custom NVMe SSD

PC

Coming later

Not a launch platform. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a date. Every previous Grand Theft Auto reached PC eventually — GTA 5 took about eighteen months.

PS4 / Xbox One

Not supported

Not supported. GTA 6 is a current-generation-only release; there is no last-gen version planned.

Hardware Questions

What are the official GTA 6 PC system requirements?
Rockstar Games has not published official PC system requirements for GTA 6, and has not announced a PC version. The specifications on this page are estimates based on current-generation console hardware and will be replaced with official figures when Rockstar publishes them.
Will GTA 6 run on a GTX 1060 or similar older GPU?
Almost certainly not at a playable frame rate. GTA 6 is a current-generation-only release with no PS4 or Xbox One version, which means the engine targets hardware well above the GTX 1060 class. Our estimated minimum is an RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 5700.
How much storage space does GTA 6 need?
Expect roughly 150 GB. GTA 5 shipped at around 100 GB with updates and Red Dead Redemption 2 needed about 150 GB, so a modern open world at GTA 6’s scale should land in the same range. An SSD will be required rather than optional.
Is GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no last-generation version.
