The single biggest technical jump on show is population density. Beach scenes carry crowd counts that no previous Rockstar game has attempted, with individually animated pedestrians rather than repeated background loops.

That is also the clearest reason there is no PS4 or Xbox One version: crowd simulation at that scale is a memory-bandwidth problem, and last-gen hardware does not have the headroom.

Weather is doing real work

Storm sequences show water pooling, surfaces reflecting differently wet versus dry, and visibility dropping hard in heavy rain. Florida means hurricanes, and the trailers show that being modelled rather than reskinned.

This is why weather cheats are more interesting in GTA 6 than they were in GTA 5 — cycling to a hurricane in a world built for hurricanes changes how the map plays, not just how it looks.

Police, phones and social feeds

The trailers repeatedly cut to in-world social media clips — vertical video, phone-shot footage, comment overlays. That is presented as part of the world’s texture, and plausibly a systemic feature rather than set dressing.

Police sequences show helicopters, road units and what looks like a more layered pursuit response than GTA 5’s star system. If wanted-level behaviour has genuinely been rebuilt, the wanted-level cheats become the fastest way to test it.
