GTA 5 Cheat Codes: Complete List for PS5, Xbox & PC

The three ways to enter cheats in GTA 5

Half of all “cheats not working” complaints are really input-method mistakes, so start here. Method one is button combinations on console: enter the sequence during live gameplay with your controller — PlayStation uses Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square, R1, R2, L1, L2 and the D-pad; Xbox uses Y, B, A, X, RB, RT, LB, LT. You do not pause; input the combo while standing in the world and the cheat fires instantly.

Method two is the in-game phone, and it is the fastest on modern consoles: press Up on the D-pad, open the dial pad, and type the 1-999 number. Rockstar pushed this method hardest from GTA IV onward, which is why it is almost certainly the primary input returning in GTA 6.

Method three is PC-only: open the console with the tilde key and type the cheat word, like PAINKILLER. PC players can also just use the phone method. One rule covers all three: cheats work in story mode and free roam only. They do nothing in GTA Online — and third-party cheat tools online earn permanent account bans.

Player cheats: health, wanted level and abilities

On console the same cheats use button combos — invincibility on PlayStation is Right, X, Right, Left, Right, R1, Right, Left, X, Triangle, and on Xbox it is Right, A, Right, Left, Right, RB, Right, Left, A, Y. If a combo will not fire, switch to the phone number; it is the most reliable method in the game.

Note the deliberate design limit: invincibility is capped at five minutes. Rockstar has never shipped permanent god mode via cheat code, and removing that timer is the number-one thing fans want changed in GTA 6.

• Invincibility (5 minutes) — PAINKILLER / 1-999-724-654-5537: god mode on a timer
• Max health and armor — TURTLE / 1-999-887-853: full health plus body armor
• Raise wanted level — FUGITIVE / 1-999-3844-8483: adds one wanted star
• Lower wanted level — LAWYERUP / 1-999-5299-3787: removes one wanted star
• Fast run — CATCHME / 1-999-228-8463: super sprint speed
• Fast swim — GOTGILLS / 1-999-468-44557: super swim speed
• Super jump — HOPTOIT / 1-999-467-8648: massively higher jumps
• Recharge special ability — POWERUP / 1-999-769-3787: instantly refills the ability meter
• Skyfall — SKYFALL / 1-999-759-3255: drops you from the sky
• Parachute — SKYDIVE / 1-999-759-3483: gives you a parachute
• Drunk mode — LIQUOR / 1-999-547-867: the wobbly drunk effect

Weapon and combat cheats

The weapons cheat hands you pistol, SMG, assault rifle, sniper, RPG, grenades and knife in a single input. Pair it with explosive ammo and you have the definitive chaos loadout — the exact combination stunt creators use for their videos.

Expect every one of these categories back in GTA 6. Weapons, ammo modifiers and aim assists are the backbone of the sandbox, and Rockstar has never cut a popular combat cheat between games.

• All weapons — TOOLUP / 1-999-866-587: the full arsenal with ammo in one input
• Explosive melee — HOTHANDS / 1-999-4684-2637: punches detonate
• Explosive ammo — HIGHEX / 1-999-444-439: bullets explode on impact
• Incendiary ammo — INCENDIARY / 1-999-462-363-4279: bullets set targets on fire
• Slow-motion aim — DEADEYE / 1-999-332-3393: Deadeye-style slow motion while aiming

Vehicle spawn cheats

Spawn inputs place the vehicle right next to you, wherever you are standing. These are perennially among the most-searched cheats in the series — “spawn helicopter” never leaves the top queries.

What you cannot spawn is deliberate: no tank, no jet, no supercar cheat exists in GTA 5. Rockstar holds back the most powerful vehicles to protect mission and economy design. Whether GTA 6 loosens that restriction is one of the open questions we are tracking on the GTA 6 cheats hub.

• Buzzard attack helicopter — BUZZOFF / 1-999-289-9633
• Comet sports car — COMET / 1-999-266-38
• Rapid GT — RAPIDGT / 1-999-727-4348
• BMX bike — BANDIT / 1-999-226-348
• Caddy golf cart — HOLEIN1 / 1-999-4653-461
• Sanchez dirt bike — OFFROAD / 1-999-633-7623
• Stunt plane — BARNSTORM / 1-999-2276-78676
• Crop duster — FLYSPRAY / 1-999-359-77729
• Stretch limo — VINEWOOD / 1-999-846-39663
• PCJ-600 motorcycle — ROCKET / 1-999-762-538
• Trashmaster — TRASHED / 1-999-872-433

World and physics cheats

Moon gravity plus a spawned stunt plane is the single most fun ten minutes in GTA 5, and it costs exactly two cheat inputs. These physics toys are why the “what is new in GTA 6” speculation runs hottest around world cheats — 2013 hardware limited what was possible.

GTA 6’s Florida setting makes the weather cheat especially interesting: cycling to a hurricane in a world actually built for hurricanes changes how the map plays, not just how it looks. Watch this category at launch.

• Change weather — MAKEITRAIN / 1-999-625-348-7246: cycles through the weather patterns
• Moon gravity — FLOATER / 1-999-356-2837: low-gravity physics across the world
• Slippery cars — SNOWDAY / 1-999-766-9329: every vehicle slides everywhere
• Slow motion — SLOWMO / 1-999-756-966: global slow motion, enter up to three times for deeper effect
• Director mode — JRTALENT / 1-999-57-825368: unlocks Rockstar’s director mode

Do GTA 5 cheats disable achievements?

Yes — for the session. Activating any cheat blocks achievement and trophy progress and caps mission ratings at Bronze until you reload. The fix the entire community uses: save before entering cheats, go wild, then reload the clean save when you want to earn achievements again.

Your save file is never permanently damaged — Rockstar dropped the old permanent-flag system years ago. This session-only design is also, almost certainly, what GTA 6 will use. The two-save habit — one clean file for progress, one chaos file for cheats — works across the whole series.

Five cheat combinations worth memorizing

Cheats get dramatically more fun in pairs. The phone method makes combos practical — dial one number, dial the next, and the sandbox bends. These five pairings are the ones veteran players reach for without thinking, and they are worth committing to muscle memory before GTA 6 arrives with a fresh list to learn.

Notice the pattern: every great combination mixes categories — a player cheat, a vehicle cheat, a world cheat. Rockstar designs the list so the categories compose. That composition is exactly what makes the GTA 6 cheat list worth studying on day one rather than fumbling through it blind.

• The rampage starter: TOOLUP for weapons, then HOTHANDS for explosive punches — the fastest route to five stars
• The escape artist: LAWYERUP to drop the cops, then a BUZZOFF helicopter the moment the stars clear
• The stunt pilot: SKYDIVE for the parachute, SKYFALL for the drop, FLOATER so the landing barely matters
• The storm chaser: MAKEITRAIN to cycle weather, SLOWMO to watch lightning crawl across the sky
• The clean getaway: FUGITIVE to raise heat for fun, then LAWYERUP twice and a parked Comet to vanish

What GTA 5’s cheats predict for GTA 6

Read GTA 5’s cheat list like a Rockstar design document and the GTA 6 blueprint appears: same categories, same input philosophy, same session-only trophy rules — with the hardware excuses removed.

When verified GTA 6 codes surface after the November 19, 2026 launch, compare them against the list on this page. You will see the DNA immediately — and this site will mark every confirmed code, platform by platform, on the GTA 6 cheats hub.

• The categories are locked: player, weapons, vehicles, wanted level, world physics — every GTA since GTA III uses this skeleton, and GTA 6 will add categories, not remove them
• Phone dialing is the future: Rockstar has pushed the in-game smartphone method harder with every release since GTA IV, and both GTA 6 protagonists visibly carry phones
• No money cheat is a deliberate philosophy: GTA V skipped one to protect its economy design, while RDR2’s $500 cheat disabled saving — which way GTA 6 goes is the biggest unanswered cheat question
• The five-minute invincibility cap is Rockstar’s most complained-about limit: a decade of feedback makes untimed god mode a real possibility
• Vehicle spawn restrictions were a design choice, not a technical one: next-gen hardware removes the technical excuse, so GTA 6’s spawn list is pure game design now

Quick answers

Do GTA 5 cheats still work in 2026?

Yes. Every code on this page works in the current PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of GTA 5, in story mode only.

What is the fastest way to enter GTA 5 cheats?

The in-game phone: press Up on the D-pad and dial the 1-999 number. It is faster than button combos and works identically on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Can you get banned for using GTA 5 cheats?

Not in story mode — never. Bans only come from third-party cheat tools in GTA Online. Built-in cheat codes in single-player are completely safe.

Is there a money cheat in GTA 5?

No. Rockstar never added one — money comes from heists, businesses and the stock market. That is why a GTA 6 money cheat is the community’s most-wanted code.

Why are my cheats not working?

Three usual causes: you are in GTA Online where cheats are disabled, you are mid-mission where many cheats are blocked, or the button combo was mis-entered. The phone-number method is the most reliable.

Will GTA 6 use the same cheat codes as GTA 5?

The categories and input methods will carry over, but the actual codes and phone numbers will be new — phone numbers are game-specific. Do not trust any site posting GTA 6 codes before launch.
