Rockstar Games has GTA 6 down for November 19, 2026, launching on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. There is no last-gen version: PS4 and Xbox One are not supported, and Rockstar has never suggested otherwise.

That date is a shipping target from the publisher, not a rumour or a retailer placeholder. It is the one to plan around — with the caveat below.

The delay history, briefly

GTA 6 was revealed in December 2023 with a broad 2025 window. That became a firm date, which then moved, and moved again to the current November 2026 slot.

The pattern matters more than the individual dates: Rockstar consistently ships when the game is finished rather than holding a date, and it announces slips well in advance rather than quietly missing them. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent, has repeatedly signalled the same priority in its earnings calls. Treat any date as firm-until-Rockstar-says-otherwise, and check back here.

What about PC?

There is no announced PC release date. Rockstar has confirmed the console launch only, and every previous Grand Theft Auto has followed the same route: consoles first, PC a year or more later, usually with a visual and performance upgrade attached.

GTA 5 landed on consoles in September 2013 and did not reach PC until April 2015 — a gap of about eighteen months. Red Dead Redemption 2 ran roughly a year behind. If GTA 6 follows either precedent, a PC build lands somewhere between late 2027 and 2028.

When do the cheat codes work?

Cheat codes are entered in-game, so they cannot exist before the game does. Nobody has verified GTA 6 codes right now — anything claiming otherwise is guessing or lying.
